At Highfield we have a group of Year 8 pupils who are our Sports Leaders. Our Sports Leaders play a vital role in school by supporting the PE department with the planning, organisation and delivery of many key events in the school calendar.
Without doubt, the Sports Leaders are an extension of the PE department and with their support ALL pupils in school are able to access, compete and enjoy our sporting events. These events include 'Marathon Kids' our House running event, Winter House matches, Summer House matches, Sports Day and a Year 4 transition football festival.
Throughout the year, all our Sports Leaders benefit from their experience, by undertaking different roles of responsibility, including coaching, refereeing, umpiring, judging, scoring as well as developing on their teamwork and communication skills.
